Lake Tobesofkee Kayak Bass Tournament

Macon-Bibb County will be lowering the lake level at Lake Tobesofkee during the winter season. This will allow property owners to build and/or do repair work on docks, boathouses, and seawalls. This will also allow us to make much-needed repairs and improvements to our boat ramps, beaches, swimming areas, and shorelines inside public parks.

We will begin lowering the lake on December 4th, 2023, and will continue lowering it until it reaches a maximum of six (6) feet below normal level. It will remain at that level until Feb 12, 2024, at which time we will begin raising it back to the normal level.

SAFETY TIPS & RULES

Anyone interested in boating laws can pick up a boating safety handbook at any DNR office. People can also go online to www.goboatgeorgia.com for more information.

Tucked along the southwestern edge of Lake Tobesofkee in Bibb County, the trails of Arrowhead Park are a hidden gem for mountain biking. It checks all the appropriate boxes:
Flow? Check!
Painful climbs? Check!
Scenic views? Check!
Picturesque creeks? Check!
Random picnic tables sprinkled along racecourse? Check!

You can expect a course approximately 9 miles in length with a little less than 800 feet of elevation change. However, when you’ve completed a lap, you will swear that you’ve climbed more. For those who think “Macon is flat,” this course definitely defies that logic. In fact, the members of our scouting party unanimously agreed that this is the hardest course in the series! In fact, we almost kept Dynamite 6/3 as the name for this race, because if you aren’t careful with your pacing, you’ll definitely blow up! Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
